Prestige Turbo Yeast and FAQ
Turbo Yeast is the go-to product on the market, producing extremely high-grade alcohol with minimal volatiles and fermenting up to 18-20% alcohol in 10-14 days.
This yeast strain is exceptionally heat, temperature and high stress resistant. Furthermore, it’s osmotic pressure tolerant – no need to presoak in water like many other strains require; simply add directly into sugar/water solution.
Prestige yeast differs from other turbo yeasts by not needing expensive fermentation sugars (fructose, glucose or dextrose) for production; instead it will work well with common household white sugar for easy and cost-effective spirits making at home. This significantly lowers costs involved with homemade spirits making.
Prestige Turbo Yeast requires that the correct starting concentration of sugar be used. This can be calculated using a hydrometer to check specific gravity of your wash before adding yeast sachets; this will help ensure optimal results from each batch.
To keep yeast healthy during initial fermentation, it is critical that you regularly stir the liquid. Doing this removes oxygen and decreases pH levels of your wash, keeping your yeast alive and well. In addition, be mindful that its temperature does not reach too high within 12 hours; otherwise this could kill off all your efforts!
